Whether from a weekend mountain retreat, a campsite getaway, or just inside someone's backyard, photos have the power to raise a vast variety of sentimental emotions. The time of day makes all the difference in establishing the personality of where an event takes place; a bright afternoon sun can make a place feel dry as a desert, and a morning mist makes the same place moody and serene. Although many events I take photos at are often loud with games, pop music, and junk food, I always make sure to include quiet photos of the outdoor environments to balance out the mood for those looking through the album of photos. The result is that they remember their experience at this event as a time of not just fun and laughter, but more so growth and development.
